Frequently asked questions
Do the current-time clocks change my conversion?
No. The small current-time readout in each converter row updates every second. The conversion and meeting suggestions keep your selected date and time. Select “Now” to use the current instant for your conversion.
What does the converter show?
Enter a date and local time in the reference time zone. Each result shows the same instant in a different zone, including its local date, current abbreviation, and UTC offset. Change the reference zone to enter a time from another region.
What is the difference between EST and US Eastern time?
EST means Eastern Standard Time, a fixed UTC−05:00 offset. America/New_York follows US Eastern time rules: EST in standard time and EDT (UTC−04:00) during daylight saving. Choose the IANA region when you need the date-specific civil time.
How do meeting suggestions work?
Choose a meeting duration. The planner checks possible starts on the reference date and shows up to three options. Each option lists the complete local time range, date, and work-hour status for every zone. A full overlap means the entire meeting fits 09:00–17:00 in every selected zone. When none exists, the results explicitly show which zones are outside those hours.
Does the planner handle daylight saving?
Yes. Offsets are calculated for the chosen date using your browser’s time zone data. Skipped local times show a recovery option, and repeated times show an occurrence selector. Keep your browser updated for recent time zone rule changes.
Can I search by UTC, GMT, IST, or an IANA identifier?
Yes. Search an abbreviation, country, region, or identifier such as Asia/Kolkata or America/New_York. Abbreviations can be ambiguous across countries, so check the country, IANA identifier, and UTC offset before selecting.
How do I share a conversion?
Use Copy link. The URL includes IANA time zones, reference date and time, display format, and meeting duration. Browser Back and Forward restore earlier settings. No account or database is required.
